Sierra Leone Rural Renewable Energy Project (RREP)- Work Package 2
•https://www.unops.org/sierra-leoneSite Electrical Engineer
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is supporting the Government of Sierra Leone to increase access to electricity through the Rural Renewable Energy Project (RREP) with funding from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). In Sierra Leone, only about 5% of the population in rural areas have access to electricity. This project provided communities across 14 districts in Sierra Leone with access to off-grid solar electricity. The project provides sustainable technical and financial solutions for delivering electricity to community healthcare centres and developing mini-grids in villages. It also provides the technical assistance required to support the sustainable development of this off-grid renewable energy initiative in Sierra Leone.
