Innocent Deckoks, whose name was borrowed from Brother Innocens De Kok; who was a very efficient administrator and a ‘perfectionist’ at Cardinal Otunga High School, is an Earth Charter Young Leader & Young African Leaders Initiative Fellow, and a Board Member at Kenya Green Building Society‘s Youth Chapter. a passionate Environmental Planner with over five years’ experience, who has a clear vision to merge development processes and environmental sustainability. He is a Registered Associate Expert of Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Audits in Kenya. He is a Programme Officer at ECAS Institute a Research, Training and Advisory firm and doubles up as the Founder of Eco-Sanctify Consultants Limited https://ecosanctifyconsultantskenya.co.ke , a company that seeks to embrace opportunities for positive environmental governance in the 21st century. He has worked as a Business Development Officer at http://www.creosltd.com that provides energy conservation services to help organizations reduce their operation costs and reduce their carbon footprint altogether by targeting energy cost centers. He was until the year 2022, the secretary of the Climate Finance Thematic Working Group, under Kenya Platform for Climate Governance; currently convened by Pan African Climate Justice Alliance http://www.pacja.org that has been seeking to improve the capacity of civil society organizations on climate finance access and modalities. He is also an alumnus at African Youth Initiative on Climate Change- Kenya and a founding member under the Environmental Peacebuilding Association https://www.environmentalpeacebuilding.org/ as a Peace Ambassador. Deckoks is also an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative https://www.yalieastafrica.org/ He is a deeply passionate champion for the realization of SDGs 1, 5, 7,11 and 13. His aim is to be a vital resource in the environmental restoration and rehabilitation entourage and the wider scope of world peace. He intends to play a part by getting the necessary skills and expertise to build and improve the knowledge & technical capacity of young girls, women and youth towards embracing opportunities within their surroundings, to create value and improve their livelihoods. He seeks to work in collaboration with stakeholders, towards sharing skills and expertise within this space to improve the environment and boost efforts of his region and the globe at large, towards climate change adaptation with a bias towards human health.
