As an Environmental Associate at Charles and Barker, I take on a variety of responsibilities that align with my commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. My key roles include:

1. Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA): I manage the preparation and execution of EIAs for diverse projects, ensuring that they comply with environmental regulations at all levels. This involves coordinating with stakeholders, collecting and analyzing data, and compiling comprehensive reports that guide project development.

2. HSE Audits: I lead health, safety, and environmental audits across industries such as construction, real estate, and energy. I ensure that safety protocols and environmental compliance measures are met, while offering actionable recommendations to improve operational performance.

3. Stakeholder Engagement: I actively engage with various stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and NGOs, to ensure that environmental and sustainability concerns are integrated into project planning and implementation.

4. Sustainability and ESG Reporting: I contribute to the firm’s sustainability efforts by developing ESG reports that evaluate the environmental performance of projects. This includes assessing carbon footprints, resource use, and waste management strategies, helping clients align with sustainability objectives.

5. Climate Resilience and Adaptation: I work on climate resilience projects, especially those that focus on water management and adaptation strategies in regions vulnerable to climate change, such as Somalia.

6. Carbon Finance and Energy Transition: I’m passionate about supporting carbon finance mechanisms and energy transition projects, ensuring that they drive sustainability while creating economic opportunities.

7. Environmental Advocacy and Training: I also provide training and guidance to teams and clients on best environmental practices and the importance of sustainability in today’s business landscape.
