Carbon & ESG Analyst Pilot

This free, 8-week online program is designed for recent female graduates based in Nairobi, Cairo, or Johannesburg who are eager to build green skills and pursue job opportunities in the growing field of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks.

Through expert instruction from University of Cambridge faculty and industry connections via Localized, you'll learn cutting-edge carbon accounting practices, ESG ratings, risk assessments, and reporting standards essential for businesses adapting to new regulations.

By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with the practical skills needed to drive sustainable change within organizations and meet the rising demand for green professionals.

Here is a selection of what you will learn -

Reporting: Learn the carbon and ESG reporting requirements for the following--or future variants of them such as:

  • The Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)
  • Carbon Disclosure Program (CDP), SFRD, EET, IFRS
  • ISO 14064
  • Paris-Aligned Target & Reduction Plan (SBTi)
  • Learn to create a concordance table
  • Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) – including the Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) process, which impacts companies that are based in Europe of a certain size and companies that do business in Europe

Carbon Accounting:

  • Prepare reports that can stand up to 3rd party audits (carbon/GHG Protocol footprint structure, ESG non-financial disclosures annual report)
  • Learn the requirements for producing a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Management Plan and take GHG Inventory
  • Gain familiarity with local or national agencies such as the EPA
  • Produce an ESG risk assessment matrix
  • Evaluate the ESG and carbon metrics of any ESG project
