Fuzzy logic based algorithm for load shedding in minigrids

    Self-directed

Load shedding is an important last resort to maintain power system stability. When voltage and frequency fluctuations occur, it can lead to instability. There comes a need to shed loads and the main problem is in the selection of which loads to shed and which ones not to shed. It's important to have a sound decision making system in order to shed non critical loads and spare critical loads. This is where fuzzy logic is used, to select the loads to be shed based on a number of parameters. Therefore, in the event of deviation from equilibrium of the power system with ever changing parameters, power system stability was obtained using the algorithm created on MATLAB.
