Projects
In 2017, the newly elected President of Ghana launched a project called “One district, One Factory” an agenda in his campaign manifesto which intended to site a factory in each district of Ghana. Citizens were therefore encouraged to submit business plans to the Ministry of Trade for selection. I was engaged by a client to develop business plans for three different businesses for submission. These businesses were: · A tomato farm (in addition to using outgrowers) and tomato paste production company · A sugarcane farm and sugar production company · A roofing sheets manufacturing company in the Northern Region of Ghana. Output: All 3 business plans passed the government vetting stage and were among the 145 businesses selected later that year to move on to the financing stage. Though unfortunately, the PPP expected arrangement with the client never happened, all three businesses were established by the government over the following three years.
In addition to developing the business plan, I also had to develop the financial model which the client needed to send to his Chinese partners.
Having just begun developing the MVP of a tech startup in the film industry of Ghana, the clients engaged me to develop a one-year marketing plan that would take them from pre-revenue to post-revenue stage. This project was undertaken in 2019.

The client- a creative painter -has been in business for over 15 years operating informally and needed to reorganise for the next phase of the business with the intention of expanding into the international market. Over a few consulting sessions, I had to ask thorough questions that provided insight into the client’s business operations, finances, marketing and personnel. The objective of the project was to help the client improve his business by employing critical analysis in identifying gaps, underutilized leverage points and developing strategies and tactics to optimize the business and facilitate growth. This was all concretized into a 3-year business plan for the existing scope of the business.

Having operated as the sole distributor for a global Asian electronic products manufacturer in Ghana for over 5 years, the client was in discussion with the company concerning expanding to West Africa, to which he was requested to submit a market entry plan. The project therefore involved developing market entry plan into six countries in West Africa commencing with three of them at the initial stage. I had to first analyse the current situation of the 5-year business in Ghana- growth, challenges, competition, customer base, etc.- before researching into the countries chosen by the client to develop the market entry plan. The project was undertaken in the latter part of 2020 and took almost two months to complete.

The project involved developing a feasibility analysis report for establishing a banana processing plant in Ghana which would process banana into flour for export to the European market. The client (a European resident in France) only knew there was abundance of bananas in a region in Ghana and therefore required comprehensive information and analysis about the intended business to enable accurate decision making. This project, undertaken from 2019 into 2020, took a little over two months to complete. The business commenced operations mid-2021.

This project, undertaken in 2020, involved developing a business plan for setting up a bottled water processing and plastic bottle production company. The business was to be funded mainly through debt financing which would cater for the purchase of all machinery to be sourced from China.
